Guidelines for MMPC Director (tentative)

  1. May 15, contact the advisory committee for their comments on the schedule.
  2.  June 1, ask the exam committee to set up MMPC Part I.
  3. July 10, the Director receives the first draft of MMPC Part I.
  4. July 20, the Director receives the reviewers’comments about the first draft of MMPC Part I.
  5. July 25, Part I send back to the exam committee for adjustments if anything serious comes up. 
  6. August 1, the director receives the final draft of the MMPC Part I from the exam committee. 
  7. August 15, the registration material mail to the schools.
  8. September 1, the director asks the exam committee to set up MMPC Part II. 
  9. September 15, the deadline for Part I registration. 
  10. September 25, Part I mail to schools.
  11. October (1st week, traditionally on Wednesday morning), Part I taken at the schools. 
  12. Next day of part I test, the deadline for schools to send back the answer sheets to the director. 
  13. October 15, the director receives Part II from the exam committee. 
  14. November 1, MMPC Part II should be ready. 
  15. November 18, Part II material + List of qualified students to take Part II send to schools.
  16. December (1st week, traditionally on Wednesday morning), Part II taken at the schools. 
  17. Next day of part II test, the deadline for schools to send back the answer sheets to the director. 
  18. December 15, Call for graders for Part II (Liaison Coorinator can help) and start search for speakers for Award Day. 
  19. January (the 1st Saturday after the AMS-MAA Annual meeting), the Grading Day. 
  20. February 5, the top 100 winners + registration for the banquet send to schools. 
  21. February 20, deadline for banquet registration. 
  22. February (Saturday of the last week or 1st week of March), Award Day.
